XKCD says what we’re all thinking

A link because there is a bit of foul language, and I like people to have a choice.

More stories of the executive branch shutting down private businesses and evicting private citizens from property they own that is on federal land. (And if you’re curious, no this didn’t happen in the 17 previous shutdowns.)

Let me use this occasion as a reminder that the federal government owns 30% of the United States real estate, most of that in the West. In five states, federal ownership exceeds 50%. Eighty-four percent of Nevada is owned by the federal government. Does that seem right to you?
