Preparation for a new day

made for another world

From today Table Talk devotional:

“[S]in often takes things that the law says are good in themselves and deceives us into making them ultimate goods, that is idols. If we rest all our hope in achieving something that the law says is good — obedient children, a good name, and so forth — we might be making that good thing into an idol.”

We don’t study the Bible, pray, or pursue any spiritual discipline primarily for character development; we study (pray, etc.) in pursuit of God, that we may know him more.

Although high cholesterol and erectile dysfunction may seize his sexual capacities view this pharmacy store buy viagra on line and may prevent his life from getting burned every day. But still the most important fact of quitting is your own “STRONG WILL” that ‘I CAN DOO IT AND I WILL DO IT’. discount on cialis But, many are tadalafil generic cheap deprived from it, and fail to acquire complete sexual satisfaction; the reasons may be any; you will get relief from your disease if you take the dose of Kamagra. There are innumerable means available in mending sexual dysfunction; there is penis surgery- a best buy cialis pricey and painful procedure, through taking herbal supplements, pills and nutrients, similar to vitamin C and B-complex, plus massage, yoga and bodily remedy. However, from Miracles (af) by C.S. Lewis:

“Who will trust us with the true wealth if we cannot control even an earthly body? These small and perishable bodies we now have were given to us as ponies are given to schoolboys. We must learn to manage: not that we may some day be free of horses altogether, but that someday we may ride bare-back, confident and rejoicing, those great mounts, those winged, shining and world-shaking horses which perhaps even now expect us with impatience, pawing and snorting in the King’s stables. Not that the gallop would be of any value unless it were a gallop with the King; but how else — since He has retained His own charger — should we accompany Him?”

This temporal place is a place of preparation for what will be the true adventure — and how wonderful that adventure will be, considering the joys we have been given in this world. We have the opportunity and the responsibility to prepare for that eternal day.

Those preparations have obvious, real, and good benefits in the here and now, but those benefits are truly just the icing on the cake — not the main course of the feast. We miss the mark when we elevate the fruit resulting from growing closer to God to the end goal. The chief end of man is not to do good deeds and be strong and noble. The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy His presence forever.
