On the 7th Day of Christmas…

Back in November, MTG and I went to the Zac Brown Band concert. (Wait, what? What does that have to do with Christmas? Be patient. I’m explaining your gift.)

Ahem.

One of the artists who opened for ZBB (fantastic show, BTW) was Sonia Leigh. The other opening act was okay, but she was WOW amazing.  Both MTG and I said we needed to get her album, but Christmas and life and general AAAAUUUUGGGGHHHH distracted us.  Then I was perusing the $5 Amazon albums and what should I see but Sonia Leigh’s album “1978 December.”

Merry Christmas to me!  All the songs are excellent, I highly recommend it. She’s got an old country, bluesy sound that I love.  And 1978 December happens to be an epic month in my life, as it is the month my wonderful sister was born. It’s a sign!

“My name is money” is such an awesome song. It reminds me of my brother who used to rant and rave about “money is nothing but a piece of paper that makes the world go crazy”! When I heard this song for the first time I completely thought of him.
